Baby B & Mummy Adrin :)

Friendship isn't a big thing - it's a million little things.

asniloveschocolate:

Alhamdulillah, I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant with Baby B. And starting from this week onwards, the check-up will be on weekly basis until the D-Day. Insya Allah. Nervous and anxious? Definitely, but I'll go with the flow. Whatever will be, will be. Good ones, hopefully. :)

One of my best buddies, Adrin is totally excited with my pregnancy & Baby B. She said , on few occassions, that she really wants to be Baby B's Godmother and Baby B is to call her Mummy Adrin. Oh, and Adrin wants Baby B to be one of her flowergirls during her reception too! (when the time comes, of course. Heh!) Sungguh terharu. Adrin, Insya Allah. Pray for us, yeah? :)

Few weeks ago, we came to know that our convocation ceremony for our LL.M will be held on 10th October 2009. And that would coincide with my 'pantang' period. I'm not sure if I will be able to go but Adrin had made me promise to take our convo pictures together, with robe and everthing! Huhu."...Asni nanti nak ambik gambar sama-sama ok, masa convo untuk degree dulu, tak sempat sbb..." Ermm, for some reasons, I think, I'll leave the rest of our conversation out. :) Takpe Adrin, if I can't go, we'll take photos some other time, elsewhere...just don't return the robe, etc too soon ok?! :P

And especially to Adrin: "On no soul does Allah place a burden greater that it can bear. It gets everyting that it earns, and upon it is everything that it reaps." - Al Baqarah:286. I love you, chica! Hugs!

OK, gotta go now. Want to do some housework and after that start preparing food for berbuka - menu for today - kerang rebus and daging goreng (remember the list? Haha!).
Salam to all!!! :)

Rezeki & Ramadhan

- Surah Al- Faatir:3

asniloveschocolate:

Alhamdulillah, today is the fourth day of Ramadhan.

Bercakap tentang rezeki, Alhamdulillah, two days before Ramadhan, a senior friend of Abdul called him and offered him a position in a corporation. The salary is fairly good but most importantly, the job scope suits his interest and LL.M qualification. Nothing is confirmed though. He's still deciding as he still loves his current job. Istikharah is the answer. Insya-Allah, he'll make up his mind soon.

On the same note, Alhamdulillah, a day before Ramadhan, my firm's HR officer called and told me something that is rather unexpected but which I considered as rezeki Ramadhan. (and rezeki Baby B). Thank you Allah and thank you to the Big Boss. Alhamdulillah.

I asked him why. He smiled and said: "Kasut Timberland saya kena curi." After that, he went back outside dan pergi kerja. Seriously, saya kagum sungguh. Tidak melenting langsung padahal saya tahu, that particular pair of shoes adalah his favourite. Macamana that particular person boleh curi Abdul's shoes? I called Abah and he said: "Takpelah, bukan rezeki Asib." Kagum juga dengan reaksi Abah yang cool. Few minutes after that, Abdul called and he said: "Yay, boleh beli kasut baru!" Sekali lagi saya kagum. Huhu.

Wallahualam.

Little Miracle - The Update.

It's not just the making of babies, but the making of mothers that midwives see as the miracle of birth.

asniloveschocolate:

Here's a little update on our Little Miracle. :)

Of Little Miracle's Development.

(a) My pregnancy at 35 weeks:

BabyCentre says: Your baby now weighs about 5.25 pounds/ 2.4 kilograms and measures approximately 18 inches/ 45 centimetres from head to toe. His elbow, foot or head may protrude from your stomach when he stretches and squirms about. Soon, as the wall of your uterus and your abdomen stretch thinner and let in more light, your baby will begin to develop daily activity cycles.

This week, your little one is now sporting fingernails and has a fully developed pair of kidneys. His liver can also process some waste products.

There's much less amniotic fluid and much more baby in your uterus, which has expanded to a thousand times its original size. You've probably put on between 25 and 30 pounds/ 11 and 13.6 kilograms and your weight gain has hit its peak. Even your belly button has got bigger and has popped outward. You may be feeling breathless now that the top of your uterus is up under your ribs. Try getting down on all fours to take deeper breaths. Although the pressure on your bladder will make the bathroom your second home, don't drink any less water -- your baby needs the fluids. But you may like to cut down on diuretic drinks like tea and coffee, which will make you have to urinate even more often.

(b) Pregnancy materials:

I did not buy any, none until last week. All this while, I've been relying on the weekly newsletter sent by Babycentre via e-mail (useful indeed!) and few pregnancy materials received from my friends, including E-in, Kano & K.Lina. Thanks to all of you. Finally, purchased a book last Sunday entitled "Ina May's Guide to Childbirth". Am still in the midst of reading it now...huhu.

Our Preparation for Little Miracle's Arrival (in 5 weeks time insya-Allah).

(a) Solat Hajat:

Ummi and Abah organized it at their home, 2 months ago. Alhamdulillah, all went well.

(b) Little Miracle's stuff:

We only started buying all these stuff when I was 30 weeks pregnant. We went baby stuff hunting at all kind of malls - Mid Valley, Ampang Point, Sogo, Jusco, Manjaku Baby Centre, OU, The Curve (I like it best!), Ikano, IKEA, Pavillion, KLCC, bla..bla..you name it! Huhu. We downloaded the relevant checklist from here. Thanks to E-in! :)

(c) Hospital Bag:

Managed to prepare Little Miracle's bag two weeks ago and now it's safely kept in our car. Haven't finished packing mine & Abdul's though. Maybe by tomorrow or so. :D You can get the checklist from here. Very helpful. :)

(d) Parentcraft Class:

I called up five private hospitals (on random basis) 2 months ago to inquire about the ante-natal class. So basically, from what I've gathered:

(i) Ampang Puteri - RM180 (2 sessions on two Saturdays - 12.30 to 3.30 p.m.)
(ii) Pantai Medical Centre - RM1++ (one day)
(iii) Pusrawi - RM100 (one day - 8.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m.)
(iv) Tawakkal - RM60++ (but not on regular basis)
(v) Prince Court - RM260 (one day - 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.)

We finally chose to attend the Parentcraft class organized by Ampang Puteri, (on 4th July 2009 and 18th July 2009) simply because of the duration of each session. Heh. We only had to attend 3 hours session per day and also tak payah bangun awal sangat on Saturday. =P Things we learnt : Diet During Pregnancy, Labour & Delivery, Pain Management, Exercise During Pregnany, Care of Newborn, Baby Bath Demo, Postpartum Care, Breastfeeding and Collection of Stem Cells. We also took the opportunity to visit the hospital's labour room, just to have a peek at what is in store for us. Huhu.

(e) StemLife:

After few rounds of discussion, Abdul & I agreed to join the StemLife Baby stem cell banking service. They will collect your cord blood immediately after delivery and store it for future use. It basically can cure several blood related diseases, such as Thalassaemia and Leukemia. If you are interested, you may wish to check out this website and this website! :)

(f) Hospital & Gynae:

It's either Ampang Puteri or Tawakkal. Still deciding.

About Little Miracle's Gender & Name.

Little Miracle is a girl!!! :) In the meantime, you can call her Little B. B - is the initial of her second name - given by her father (well, Abdul dah simpan nama tu since he was in uni...huhu). Am still finalizing her first name though. Sangat fun :D

So, that's it for today...please pray for us yeah?! :) Take care people!
