9.1kg overweight.

The belly rules the mind :D

asniloveschocolate:

I've gained approximately 9.1 kg since the last seven months. That means, I'm currently 9.1kg overweight from my ideal weight. Huhu. But that, of course, didn't stop me from enjoying:

(i) yummylicious food at Mar's crib on Saturday (birthday celebration for Maira & Ayyash), thanks Mar & Munawar, loved the roti jala bersama kari ayam,hehe!;

(ii) Akok-like kuih Indonesia at Muna's crib- went there on Saturday evening to visit adorable Little Zahra :)

(iii) Baskin-Robbins' Mint Chocolate Chip & Cookies 'n Cream Ice Cream at The Curve with two lovely ladies this afternoon, K.Arpah & Adrina (ok, ok...it was only me who ordered and finished the ice-cream - well, since two months ago, I would have that particular BR ice cream 2-3 times in a week, without fail, hehe, blame it on the pregnancy! :D) sebelum bergerak ke Warong Ayam Penyet dan menyumbat perut dengan Ayam Penyet yang sedap!

See, I told you...Asni tiada masalah selera makan.Alhamdulillah. :D Selamat memulakan minggu baru & selamat bekerja rakan-rakan! :) Apa kata kita mulakan hari esok dengan berkata "Yay, hari ini adalah hari Isnin!" :P

Sampai bila...

Tika suami enak diulit mimpi...

Hati bergetar di malam hari...

Terfikir sejenak tentang mati...

Sampai bila mahu begini...

Balik lambat hari-hari...

Sampai bila mahu begini...

Solat jemaah hanya sesekali...

Sampai bila mahu begini...

Al-Quran dibaca laju sekali...

Sampai bila mahu begini...

Amalan ibadat sunat jarang dituruti...

Sampai bila mahu begini...

Terkejar-kejar dengan kerja duniawi...

Sampai bila mahu begini..

Masa bersama keluarga hanya masa saki baki...

Two Strangers.

asniloveschocolate:

Was in one of the elevators at my office building, on my way down to meet the Husband, when this one stranger, a young, specky Chinese woman smiled at me and asked about my pregnancy. When she found out that this is my first pregnancy, she went on giving me helpful tips on maternity and delivery. Exercise, ginseng, etc. Sampai di lobi, she waited until the Husband arrived to fetch me.Thank you Yin Mei.

After having our dinner, the Husband and I went to watch Transformers :Revenge of the Fallen, with Kanot. I walked out from the movie theater 10 minutes after the show started though, as the audio was too loud. Lil Miracle and I couldn't stand it at all. Hence, decided to grab a tall-sized caramel frappuccino light blended coffee with whipped cream from Starbucks and sat there for two hours and a-half, waiting patiently for the Husband and Kanot, while reading a magazine bought from MyNews. Huhu.

Was absorbed in my reading, when a stranger, a young, specky Chinese girl, introduced herself to me. Her name is Elin, from France. She said she's currently doing an attachment with a private company and is required by her school to write an assignment on the differences between the work culture in Malaysia and France. "Can I bother you with some questions?", she asked. I immediately agreed as I was bored myself. Heh. "Are you actually allowed to have your breakfast during working hours? I've seen my colleagues do that all the time, sometimes they would take one to two hours everyday" O-oh. Tak tau nak jawab sebab in reality, memang it's like a norm kan?Huhu. If the question is posed to you, what would your answer be, eh?

The Husband finally came out from the movie theatre after two hours and a half. I introduced Elin to the Husband, and Elin said: "Hi, I was her bodyguard for the past two hours." Haha. Comel betul.

Kadang-kadang hairan, macamana a cold person like me boleh beramah mesra dengan two strangers in one day. Huhu.Serious.Pelik.

Work, work, work...

Hard work never killed anybody, but why take a chance? :D

asniloveschocolate:

Was home only 30-45 minutes past midnight for two nights in a row this week i.e. on Monday night and Tuesday night as my boss, a colleague of mine and I got to work on some corporate agreements in respect of a particular project, for an important client. Alhamdulillah, taking into consideration the amount of hours that I've spent for the past two nights at the office, my boss was kind enough to let me leave the office few hours early this evening. On top of that, he has also asked me to take an unrecorded day-off next week. Yay! Beliau juga telah belanja kami makan tengahari di The Royale Chulan Hotel dan makan malam di Prego, di The Westin. Thank you Big Boss! :) A big thank you goes to Abdul as well for being so understanding and supportive! *Hugs, Hugs* Till then, marilah kita semua (termasuk saya sendiri) cuba bekerja dengan seikhlas mungkin (it's hard, but let's try our hardest, heh). Having said that, occasional (and harmless) complaints about work are allowed, of course. ;P Daa!

5 happy things.

Man must search for what is right, and let happiness come on its own.

asniloveschocolate:

There are five things that make me smile since the past couple of days till now, they're all basically mundane stuff, but here goes the list, heh:

1. L.LM Exam Result

Yup, it's out! Got to know about it on Friday from Adrina. Thanks Makcik! Although this semester's result is far better than the last one, but I personally think that it's not good enough as I was praying for a higher CGPA. ;P But still, am grateful to Him. Without His help and mercy, my result could be worse. Thank you Allah. Perhaps, He's saving me the best for another time or for something else. Who knows! :) On this point, I do agree with Lisa Nichols (The Secret), when she said: "Most of the time, when we don't see the things that we've requested, we get frustrated. We get dissapointed. And we begin to become doubtful. The doubt brings about a feeling of dissapointment. Take that doubt and shift it. Recognize that feeling and replace it with a feeling of unwavering faith. "I know that it's on its way." Yay, it's on its way, Asni!

2. Family Dinner
I was able to be out of the office by 6p.m. sharp on Thursday and Friday. And for that reason, I managed to spend some time with my parents two nights ago before they went back to KB .Was feeling guilty few days before as I could not join them in Port Dickson for a short family vacation, due to work commitment (what else, heh). Minta maaf Ummi & Abah. Alhamdulillah, Ummi and Abah had arrived safely in KB yesterday evening.

3. Abdul's Big Decision
Am so happy with Abdul's big decision in respect of this one particular matter. Been trying to convince him for the past two years to take such big step, but knowing Abdul, he would take his own sweet time, to analyse things prior to making any final choice. Alhamdulillah, he finally made up his mind few weeks ago. *A big pat on Abdul's back* :) Abdul Hasib, remember this: "An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest."- Benjamin Franklin

4. Night out with Abdul & Asna
We only decided to catch "Night at the Museum: The Battle of Smithsonian" around 7.20p.m. yesterday. After performing our Maghrib prayer, Abdul drove us to CapSquare and we bought three tickets for an 8 o'clock show. Pheww. Nasib baik takde orang queue. Parking pon banyaaaaak kosong. Tapi most of the shops dah tutup.About the movie? Ermm, not that bad but I personally think that the little kids would find it more enjoyable to watch kot. :D

5. Spring Cleaning
Am currently taking some time off from the spring cleaning session organized by Abdul. ;P Berkotak-kotak majalah, papers and old clothes dah dibuang. Now, nak kena rearrange all the books and files so as to avoid any waste of space in our computer room. It'll be a looong day! Huhu. If you are an avid fan of the Oprah show, you would know that this also known as 'de-cluttering process'. The organizational guru, Peter Walsh once said: "[Stuff] robs people of so much. If your house is full of stuff, all the blessings that could fill your house can't get in. The stuff takes over. It robs you psychologically. You can't be at peace." Hopefully, our life and our mind would be more peaceful after the spring cleaning. :)

Till then, toodles! Gotta continue cleaning! ;) Happy weekend, everyone and be happy!

17 Again.

Who says you're only young once?

asniloveschocolate:

Managed to be out of the office by 6 p.m. on the dot yesterday, hence planned to catch a movie with Abdul later at night. To ease our concerns regarding me watching movies during pregnancy, I personally consulted a doctor friend , while Abdul did some googling over the Net. Setelah selesai solat Maghrib dan bacaan Yaasin bersama, we decided to proceed with our plan (dengan harapan it would be harmless to our Lil Miracle).

Thus, off we went to One Utama to watch 'Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian'. Little did we know that the tickets were all sold out , so we opted to settle for '17 Again', and it's not disappointing at all - a pleasantly entertaining and funny movie, with a dose of sweet anecdotes of love - baguslah untuk release stress. :D

Mike O' Donnell: "Scarlet, before you go through this, I want to remind you of September 7th, 1988. It was the first time that I saw you. You were reading Less Than Zero, and you were wearing a Guns 'n' Roses t-shirt. I'd never seen anything so perfect. I remember thinking that I had to have you or I'd die... then you whispered that you loved me at the homecoming dance, and I felt so peaceful... and safe... because I knew that no matter what happened, from that day on, nothing can ever be that bad... because I had you. And then I, uh... I grew up and I lost my way. And I blamed you for my failures. And I know that you think you have to do this today... but I don't want you to. But I guess... if I love you, I should let you move on." ~Awwh!!!~

THE Secret.

As above, so below
As within, so without

6.5 months today.Alhamdulillah. 2.5 months to go. Insya Allah. Abdul & I have yet to buy anything or to do any preparation for the arrival of our Lil Miracle as we've been a bit busy with our professional works (plus, I just finished my exam few weeks ago). Hope can spend some time with Abdul next week onwards to shop for the Lil One.

At present, I'm glued to The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. I bought it as a gift to myself two weeks ago for having officially entered my 6th month of pregnancy and also, for having completed my LL.M. Been wanting it for so long (since I watched a segment on The Secret in the Oprah show about a year ago or so), but kept on postponing to purchase it, without any specific reason. :P Though I finished reading it in one sittting last two weeks , nevertheless, I've been carrying it around since and been reading it over and over again until today. Why huh? Erm, just put it this way, it really, really makes my day. :) A great source of inspiration and motivation, I must say. The book basically deals with the law of attraction, which is nothing new to us, I believe. It's just a matter of putting it into practice, and that is something, which is rather hard to do.

"We all work with one infinite power. We all guide ourselves by exactly the same laws. The natural laws of the universe are so precise that we don't have any difficulty building spaceships, we can send people to the moon and we can time the landing with the precision of a fraction of a second.

Wherever you are - India, Australia, New Zealand, Stockholm, London, Toronto, Montreal, or New York - we're all working with one power. One law. It's the Law of Attraction! The Secret is the law of attraction!

Everything that's coming into your life you are attracting into your life. And it's attracted by virtue of the images you're holding in your mind. It's what you're thinking. Whatever is going on in your mind you are attracting to you." - Bob Proctor on what is Law of Attraction, The Secret.

Hence, besides berusaha, berdoa dan bertawakal, marilah kita think positive , and visualize for and focus on the good things we want in life! Negativity, hypocrisy, betrayal...shoo, shoo!Go away!:D Moga-moga Allah bantu. Amin.

I feel about airplanes the way I feel about diets. It seems to me they are wonderful things for other people to go on.

asniloveschocolate:

Abdul & I flew to Kota Bharu last Friday night upon my parents' special request - they planned to hold a small event at their place last weekend - Solat Hajat for our Lil Miracle. Alhamdulillah, the event, which was attended by our close relatives, friends and neighbours, went well. Given that I'm currently entering into my seventh month of pregnancy, and on my obgyn's advice, that trip to/from Kuala Lumpur - Kota Bharu with Abdul, would basically be my last air travel. For those interested, the following is basically an excerpt of an article which I found on the Net regarding air travel in pregnancy:

"Most airlines have an upper limit beyond which they refuse to carry a pregnant woman - generally 32-34 weeks. Earlier in the pregnancy - maybe 28 weeks onwards - airlines may ask you to supply a doctor's letter. These conditions vary considerably, so please check with your airline. Once in the air, the biggest risk to the pregnant traveller is deep vein thrombosis - the formation of a blood clot in a leg vein. It is a rare, but a serious complication of any pregnancy. The risk of thrombosis is increased by immobility and dehydration. In order to reduce the risk of thrombosis you should try to book an aisle seat to give you some extra leg room, drink plenty of fluids during the flight and get up and walk about for a few minutes every hour or so. This is why you require an aisle seat, so that you do not become a nuisance to your fellow travellers." - Is Air Travel Safe?

Dan alang - alang kami di Kota Bharu, we took the opportunity to attend Mar & Nazim's wedding reception on 6th June 2009, ditemani oleh Fizzy dan Shambie, di Pasir Mas . Congratulations to the beautiful couple! :)

OK-lah, am mentally and physically tired already (had to attend an 8-hour meeting today, huhu), and as the wise Benjamin Franklin rightly put it: Fatigue is the best pillow. Well, it is, indeed! ;) Good night people!

Our Second Anniv! :)

Another year for us in wedded bliss.
Did you guess it still would be good as this?
Days filled with friendship, love and deep affection,
A relationship of love close to perfection.

It’s nice to know a perfect pair like you,
You prove a happy marriage can come true.
I hope with many more years both of us are blessed,
And each happy anniversary is the best.

asniloveschocolate:

1st June 2009 - the date marked our second anniversary. Last year, we had the opportunity to celebrate our first wedding anniversary by having a simple dinner in a nice and cozy seafood restaurant in Sepang Goldcoast- SGC Steamboat. Unfortunately this year, I had to be in Kota Bharu on the said date and thus, our celebration plan was cancelled.

But looking at it from a positive angle, I consider my attendance to countless meetings and my involvement in some confidential projects in Kota Bharu, as my (small) contributions to my beloved hometown, and for that I am proud of myself. *pat pat pat* :D

Knowing the fact that I wouldn't be around on 1st June 2009, I'd prepared something in advance with a big big help from Miera & Irfan (I love you Miera, hugs!) - a special delivery to Abdul's office on our anniversary day! A bouquet of small, cute bears, with three heart-shaped 'I LOVE YOU' signs, a card from me and our Lil Miracle and also a small parcel with a long sleeve Arsenal jersey in it. Abdul quickly called me after receiving the gift as he was really surprised (sbb dia ingat orang uruskan roadtax yang nak jumpa dia)! I like! :D Paling penting, Abdul cakap dia happy. :)

And perhaps due to my tight work schedule and extreme fatigue, I was down with fever since day one I arrived in Kota Bharu. Luckily, my big boss was kind enough to let me have an unrecorded leave two days ago. Abdul came to know about it and he immediately took a day off as well; he planned to take me for a so-called belated anniversary lunch. So, with running nose, itchy throat and bad fever, off we went to Penang Village, Alamanda. Walaupun Asni tak dapat bau and rase betul2 everything yang Asni makan, thank you, Husband. :) You're so sweet. Happy Second Anniversary to Us, Hubby! ;)

We shared your joy! :D

If you were all alone in the universe with no one to talk to, no one with which to share the beauty of the stars, to laugh with, to touch, what would be your purpose in life? It is other life, it is love, which gives your life meaning. This is harmony. We must discover the joy of each other, the joy of challenge, the joy of growth.

asniloveschocolate:

I've mentioned in the last entry that I hoped after end of May, I could pretty much relax at home during weekends, but that basically remains a plan, until now. Huhu. In actual fact, I've been flying back and forth to Kota Bharu, attending meetings, and working until wee hours of the morning for the past two weeks. But the saddest part is that I had to cancel our second wedding anniversary celebration plan as I was needed in Kota Bharu on 1st and 2nd June 2009. :( Dan sekarang saya demam sejak tiga hari lepas, akibat keletihan melampau barangkali...

Anyhow, Alhamdulillah, I managed to squeeze in few weddings into my schedule:

Ahmad Farid & Lily Adelina's wedding reception,
Dewan Besar Tun Rahah, Menara Yayasan Tun Razak, 30th May 2009

Lily is part of our Law20 group, hence I was excited to see a lot of familiar faces that night - my friends back from uni! :)

Nakhaies & Adibah Hanim (aka Chi)'s wedding reception
Cultural Activity Centre, IIUM, 31st May 2009

Abg Kaie was one of Abdul's roomies for four years, during the uni days and they remain close friends until now. Personally, I've known Abg Kaie and K.Chi since 6-7 years ago, and Abg Kaie usually acts like my big brother. He would say something like "Tak sangka adik Abg nak kawen dah" and the likes. Huhu.Given the fact that their wedding reception was held in our alma mater, most of our old friends turned up. It's amazing to see how much everyone has changed. Dulu usung buku, sekarang dukung baby. :D

Linda Hanim's wedding reception,
Kelab Golf Perkhidmatan Awam, Bukit Kiara; 31st May 2009

Linda is an acquaintance from my uni days and she was Abdul's former colleague in Lee H back in 2007. At present, Linda is a corporate counsel with my former company, which I left almost a year ago. So I was double excited that night, as I could meet my friends from uni as well as my former colleagues. Double joy! :) The funniest thing is, one of my friends asked "Bile nak pregnant?" and I was like "Haa? Asni lagi 3 bulan due ni..." :P

And last but not least, a week prior to the great events, Abdul and I had the chance to visit Baby Emyr, son of E-in & Tapai, who was safely delivered via C-sect, on 23rd May 2009, at Naluri Medical Centre, Wangsa Maju. Muka die mcm E-in! Comel sungguh! Sebab terkejut sangat E-in dah ada anak, macam rase surreal sbb dulu masa kawan dengan die perangai dua-dua orang macam budak-budak, I immediately called her after receiving her text about the delivery and I cried. Heh. And she was like "...Ooi, jangan nangeslaa, aku baru lepas C-sect ni, takleh nanges, saket..." Huhuhu. Sorry, in! ;P

Congratulations to all, to the newly-weds, and of course to the proud parents of Baby E. Lots of love from us both, Asni & Abdul! Mmuah!
