Beautiful Miracle from Mekah.

Hello Chocolate-lickers!

Am not in the mood to talk or to blog...not in the mood to giggle or to mingle...and these have been going on for weeks .Just want to sit, sleep and eat. That explains the temporary silence, heh.

People around me - friends and colleagues in particular, have been speculating about my current condition - to which I have neither confirmed nor denied.

The first time we came to know about it, Abdul straightaway performed his 'Sujud Syukur'. And I? Was busy calling one of my best buddies (who's been praying for me from the start) to tell her the news. Thanks for everything, dear YOU! For not rejecting my constant calls, for listening to my constant worries and fears, for replying all the text messages and for all the helpful tips and advice. :)

"Allah has answered our prayers, our pleas before Him during the Hajj'' - that was basically the reaction that we received from Ummi, Mak and our Abahs when Abdul & I told them about it. It amazes me how Allah works in so many beautiful ways, in the lives of His servants. Subhanallah.

Thank you Allah, thank you Allah, thank you Allah for this beautiful tiny gift from Mekah, which is now growing inside me, day by day. Friends dearest, please pray for us...please pray that this little miracle will turn into a healthy baby. Amin...

And yes...we are happy. :)

Lots of love,
Asni

safe and sound, alhamdullilah.

They shall complete their obligations, fulfill their vows, and visit the ancient shrine.

asniloveschocolate:

Alhamdulillah, Ummi & Abah have safely returned to Malaysia, from Mekah this morning. Thank you Allah, and thank you friends for the prayers. They're now resting at home, adjusting their body clock to Malaysian time, prior to returning to work in few days' time. Can't wait to be with them. :) Abdul had been nagging me all day long for not waking him up at 4 o'clock this morning. He wanted to meet my parents at the airport, real bad. The thing is, my parents called me up at 3 a.m., from KLIA and asked me not to wake their favourite son-in-law up. 'Takut letih,' they said. Amboi!

And remember Allah much, that you may be successful.

asniloveschocolate:

On the international scene:

(i) the unjustifiable massacre of Palestinians in Gaza by the Israelis continues. Let us pray for our Muslim brothers and sisters who are, at present, being oppressed, all around the world. May Allah protect us all.

On the local scene, do you know that:

(i) Tun M has written an open letter to the newly-elected US President, Mr. Barack Obama, here, on January 1st, 2009? Well said, Tun M!Let us pray for the changes to happen. Gradually, if not immediately. Amin.

(ii) the proposed take-over of 51% stake in IJN by Sime Darby, which stirred a brouhaha from the public, is currently postponed? The government said the proposal is postponed, awaiting indepth review to be undertaken by the relevant parties, including Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Health and Economic Planning Unit. But, some say that the postponement is due to the upcoming Kuala Terengganu by-election on 17th January 2008. Hrrmm.. and what say you?

On a personal note:

(i) am worried about my mom. She was warded for few days in a hospital in Madinah and only discharged two days ago. Nothing serious, though (according to her at least). But she has yet to fully recover. Friends, do pray for my parents' health and safety, pretty please? :'(

(ii) am currently in love with the Benefit's Beauty Uppers, a sassy canister of beauty pick-me-ups! (Benefit's Tea Party -Play Stick Foundation & Benefit's Peace, Love & Glossiness Lip Gloss set need to be purchased separately though, huhu!). Now, the stubborn pimple scars on my face are less visible. I think so, heh.

(iii) watched 'Bedtime Stories' together with Abdul and Asna last night. Not disappointing at all. Full of highly-imaginative and comical scenes. There's this one particular scene, which I really like - the gum-ball rain scene and I think you'd like it too. Eheh.

Till then, enjoy your Sunday and to all Muslims (ingatan kepada diri sendiri juga), dalam dok busy surf the Net, main online football game (dengan Kanot contohnya), swimming (dengan Apon, for instance) atau tengok the magic square box, jangan lupa solat!!! :)

2009.

So what? You're gonna say 'YES' to everything?

While most of the people in town were busy rejoicing the arrival of 2009, Abdul & I went to a cinema and catch a movie on the New Year's eve. We watched 'Yes Man' last night (Err, do you think it can be translated into Malay language as 'Pak Turut'?) No? Yes? I'm not so sure myself. Heh. The movie was hilarious; I was amused throughout the 2-hour period. Hihi. The moral of the story? Well, basically, we can't say 'YES' to everything. We need to put on our thinking cap prior to making any decision, no matter how trivial the matter is. We need to say 'YES' not because we HAVE to, but because we WANT to. Yeah, yeah, I know, it's easier said than done, mainly if the instruction comes from our own Big Boss. Huhu.

Similar thing has also been preached, over and over again by Madame Oprah - the power to say NO, via her prominent talk show. I genuinely believe that this power should not be taken for granted, so as to allow us to say YES sincerely. Well, am still not good at using this so-called power-to-say-NO thingy, but hey, practice makes perfect, right? Hrmm...perhaps I can utilize such power to say these: "No Abdul, I don't want to do the household chores. No, Abdul, I don't want to do the laundry. No Abdul, I don't want to do the dishes. " How about that?! Hikhik.

2008 saw Abdul and I saying YES, among others, to:

(i) purchasing a reasonably-priced, medium sized two-storey terrace house, a place, that both of us, can call HOME. The house has been completed, pending issuance of CF. We'll be moving in this year, Insya-Allah, but not so soon, I suppose. Second half of 2009, maybe, if not later as we need to settle few things first.

(ii) purchasing low-priced air tickets to Jakarta and Bandung. Insya-Allah, we'll be flying off to Indonesia for a brief vacation in April. Initially, together with Fazlin & Feisal and Miera & Irfan. However, given that Fazlin is currently 5-month pregnant, the couple won't be joining us this time around. Next time, perhaps.

(iii) spending some money to buy several furniture for my parents' new yet economical condo as a sign of our gratitude for letting us stay at this little apartment of theirs in Kuala Lumpur, free-of-charge, for almost 2 years. Now that my parents' are letting go of this apartment for sale, Abdul and I need to move into the new condo for a short while, before moving out for good to stay at our own place. Perhaps, my little sister, Asna, who will turn 18 next year, will replace us, as the guardian of my parents' Rumah Hinggap'. Huhu.

2008 also saw Abdul and I saying NO, inter alia, to:

(i) Ummi and Abah's offer to fly with them to Australia next month, February 2009. They'd like to sponsor our accommodation if we were to go. But as much as we want to, we had to turn down the offer since saving our money for more important things, instead of getting ourselves return air tickets (worth RMXXXX) to the world's smallest continent, seems to be a more sensible option. Kami bukan orang kaya. Teehee!

(ii) (separate) job offers from few law firms (only one for me, huhu), as we were not looking for one, at that particular time. But we thanked them for believing and having faith in us.

(iii) several wedding invitations, get-togethers and outings, simply due to our tight schedule. Abdul had been working on Saturdays/Sundays for few times and I was pretty occupied with classes and all. Having said that, our apologies to all of you, hope to spend more time with each of you, this year. Insya-Allah.

When all's said and done, 1429H/2008 was a wonderful year for both of us (though pretty challenging for the world economy, particularly after the dust of financial chaos settled in the US). Abdul and I are looking forward to an even better 1430H/2009. Insya-Allah. Once again, Salam Maal Hijrah 1430H to all Muslims out there and Happy New Year 2009 to everyone!

Love, Abdul & Asni
