My workstation - the snapshots.

The very pink of perfection.

asniloveschocolate:

After two weeks, have yet:

(i) to place my heart-shaped, pink colour rag, on the floor.

(ii) to put my pink rectangular basket on the table.

(iii) to bring my pink, fairy mirror (untuk check kesengetan tudung, kan sisto?! Hehe!)

(iv) to put up my pink butterfly at my workstation (a must! had left the old one at my previous company. Sisto, please jagakan. huhu!)

(v) to pin up my favourite pictures of friends & families on the greenboard.

(vi) to bring my black+pink tissue box cover.

Will do so by next week! Insya Allah. I love my own little workstation, no matter what other people may think ! :) My workstation, in its own unique way, enables me, to work happily. ;)

But little did we know that we are going to get those little cute Olympics key-chains last week ! Why only last week, I asked. We're waiting for the right time, Ummi said. Haa? Comel betul-la diorang ni! Perlula tunggu time Olympics season betul2! ;P

So long.

We make a living by what we get, we make a life by what we give.

asniloveschocolate:

I was at the prayer's mat when I realised that I did not say goodbye to u personally and I am sad about that. Hope you enjoyed ur stay with us and u will be missed for sure. Minta halalkan makan minum dan salah silap. As a boss, I may be very strict but I hope u don't take it personally. Take care and forget us not!!! Drop by the office if you are free. Want to say goodbye personally to you. - NAM, the big big boss, July 31, 2008.

I promised her that I would drop by the office last week. But, that was not done until this morning. Blame the lazy me ;) The brief visit was fun since I had the chance to meet some of my former colleagues as well. NAM took me for a tour around the office and insisted to take several pictures of me and my fellow friends, with her as the official photographer. Haha. That's sweet of you Puan. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything. :)

After saying goodbye to the previous company, I went to THE legal firm to fill up some forms in view of commencing my career as a practicing corporate lawyer real soon. When I say real soon, it means tomorrow! So long short vacay, hello again working world! :)

p/s: To Affie, sorry for not being able to meet you as planned earlier. :(

Now a SAHW.

I prefer the word 'homemaker' because 'housewife' always implies that there may be a wife someplace else.

asniloveschocolate:

Resignation is a bad thing? Says who? Just take a look at some of the gifts that I received during my farewell party last month! So, go resign! Haha! ;)

Well, as mentioned in the previous post, I was no longer with my previous company, effective August 1, 2008. But it's not until last Wednesday (due to Bali trip), that I officially become a stay-at-home-wifey! And guess what, it's only a week and I'm bored. Already. In fact, I started complaining about my boredom to Abdul since last Friday! Haha! Ungrateful, I am. Heh! Hrmm...as much as I love lazing around at home, with nothing to do, I am definitely going to start working soon. And I mean, real soon :)

Friends and relatives have been asking, why the resignation. Usually, I would avoid answering such question by giving them the sweetest, meaningful smile. *wink* Why the smile? Well, I don't really think people will understand my decision. Ya-la, more and more friends are leaving the practicing world, either to be an in house counsel or a government officer (some of them, to lecture) and here I am opting to do otherwise.Well, let's just say that I have my own little plan for my life and I believe in following my heart.Period. Toodles! :)

Surprise, surprise.

Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.

asniloveschocolate:

Just got back from Abdul's office half an hour ago. Yup, yup, went to his office this afternoon and surprised him by bringing some home-cooked meal for his lunch. Hehe. I told the receptionist to inform Abdul that Ira's waiting for him [sorry Ira, guna your name, haha!] and he was like " Ira, who?" and when he came out, he looked at me and the cute basket ,with a quizzical expression on his face. Hehe. Surprise, surprise! ;) Gotcha Abdul!

He took me to Taman Tasik Titiwangsa and had his lunch there. Well, the food was nothing special, a simple meal but was prepared with lots of love. Nasi Goreng Special Asni. Glad you like it, Abdul! :)

Jalan - Jalan Jalan Duta

Q:What gear were you in at the moment of the impact?
A:Gucci sweats and Reeboks.

asniloveschocolate:

Have never been involved in litigation field and don't think will ever be as it is not really my cup of tea. Hence, never been to the new court complex at Jalan Duta although it's just 10 minutes away from mon chateau. Yes, after all this while - never. Plus, it's been ages since I last met my good friend from chambering days, K. Fara! Undeniably good reasons to pay the new place, a visit, huh? ;) So, went there this evening to kill two birds with a stone. Wow. The new complex is so huge ( I know, I know, a jakun I was) and I definitely didn't feel any sense of belonging to it, at all. Heh. Instead of taking a tour (around la grande cour), we ended up sitting in her room, chit-chatting prior to continuing our catching -up session in K. Chi's room - another S.A.R friend of mine and the beloved fiancee of a certain someone. ;) Thanks for the drinks K.Chi ! :) I could see that both of them are happy with their current jobs, respectively. Yes, it's so evident - both K. Fara & K. Chi were literally giving me lectures on their present portfolio(s) this eve! Interesting, indeed! :) Hope to see both of you again soon yeah!

Later in the evening, had dinner with Ira at one of my favourite makan places, the famous Nasi Kukus Ayam Dara, Taman Melati (yay!) before accompanying her to Abdul's untie's boutique at Taman Sri Gombak. Waa...tempahan untuk baju raya dah closed! :,( Gotta think of some other alternatives or else I'll be wearing last year's baju raya and I really need to think fast, otherwise Abdul will get to save some money this year! *evil laugh*

Morrie.

Love each other or perish.

asniloveschocolate:

"So many people walk around with a meaningless life. They seem half asleep when they're busy doing things they think are important. This is because they are chasing the wrong things. The way you get meaning into your life is to devote yourself to loving others, devote yourself to community around you, and devote yourself to creating something that gives you purpose and meaning." - Tuesdays with Morrie.

Well, well, well...have taken Morrie's advice and have devoted myself to the people around me today by:

(i) visiting Abdul's latest nephew, Baby Rayyan (I suggested the name btw! Huhu!);

(ii) having lunch with my dearest sister, Asna at her school (and listening to all her rambling about her current life.);

(iii) spending some time with my dear friend, Ira ( Hida, we miss you! And to Abdul, thanks for letting me have fun with my buddy today . Didn't feel guilty to leave you alone at home since you've had yours last Friday night, together with Abg Azmet & Apon. I was home, alone, remember? Yes dear, payback time it is. Hehe! *wink*) ; and

(iv) helping a blind woman to get a cab (together with Ira, of course!)

....and am feeling great indeed. With friends and family surrounding you, how can you not love your life? Morrie, thank you for such sound advice (but perhaps I can add something to that - to devote yourself to God. The utmost important thing to have a meaningful life, I must say. ) and Morrie, I love the following wise words of yours as well, on a subject which is close to my heart, family:

"This is part of what a family is about, not just love, but letting others know there's someone who is watching out for them. It's what I missed so much when my mother died - what I call your 'spiritual security' - knowing that your family will be there watching out for you. Nothing else will give you that. Not money. Not fame."

Now, that really makes me want to meet my parents. Abah & Ummi, I miss both of you. A lot. ;(

Being Gracious.

People do nice things every day!

asniloveschocolate:

Have you read this month's edition of Malaysia's leading fashion & beauty magazine, Female? Well, if you haven't, there's this one article that has caught my attention - Thankful, Write It Down. The article simply suggests us all to keep a gratitude journal. You know, to jot down all the things (no matter how small or silly it may seem) that we are thankful for in a notebook on daily basis, that kind of stuff. According to the article, by doing that, it will help us appreciate life more and find greater happiness. As Oprah once said, "the single greatest thing you can do to change your life today would be to start being grateful for what you have right now, and the more grateful you are, the more you get." Oprah had also talked on this particular subject on her show, with an author, Sarah Ban Breathnach. "The power of gratitude can change your life in almost magical ways," says Sarah.

OK. Now I will extract the steps to be taken in order to keep a gratitude journal, from the article [Thanks, Female!], for our easy reference:

Step 1: Choose a blank notebook or journal to write in every night. Consider a spiral bound journal that opens flat for ease in writing. Keep this notebook next to the bed with a pen readily available.

Step 2: Look for things during the day for which you are grateful. Make mental notes throughout the day. Notice how the gratitude journal shifts the focus to a more positive outlook.

Step 3: Before going to sleep, write down five things you're grateful for. Review the day and include anything, however small or great, that was a source of gratitude, such as a baby's smile, a flower in bloom, or the smell of a newly-cut lawn. Make the list personal. Write few words about each blessing. Be brief but increase the length as the time progress.

Step 4: Begin looking for the positive angle in all things each day. View obstacles as opportunities to appreciate.

Step 5: Focus on the wonderful things in life to attract similar encounters in the course of the day. Use positive energy as a magnet to draw even more positive energy. Note these attractions in the journal.

Step 6: Personalise the gratitude journal. Expand it with clippings, photos, quotes or verses from magazine or other sources.

Happy trying! And oh, do visit Thanks-O-Meter ! You'll find interesting short entries on what others are grateful for and you can submit yours as well! :) Now, I'm going to start mine...let's see...
