Facebook is a social utility that connects you with the people around you.
"The danger is that they might be sharing too much information, which they don't want strangers to see -- for instance, date of birth, personal photos, addresses, and other contact details... The information may be all that a cybercriminal needs to construct a highly targeted phishing e-mail or identity theft." - InformationWeek [Click

Facebook. Am new to this popular networking site, I must admit. New and totally inactive user. Why? I don't know. No specific reason, really. But one thing for sure, I hate it when the following wordings appear on my screen:
"...Add xxx application to your Facebook account? By clicking 'add' you agree to the Platform Application Terms of Use..."
In other words, the application, among others, will allow the independent developer of such application to know who I am and access my personal information, for instance, which school I went to and how many kids I have (duh!). I just could not comprehend why. What's the need? Hence, no personal details provided at my Facebook account.Period.
Errmm...same goes to our Friendster and Myspace, I suppose. Well, I don't know. You decide.
