.My Tok Ayah.

A grandfather is someone with silver in his hair and gold in his heart

asniloveschocolate:

Have you ever sat next to your late grandfather's body, properly covered in white cloth, from head to toe, lying on a hospital stretcher, in a Van Jenazah, for a thirty-minute journey, alone? I have.

Just now, after having finished my Maghrib prayer , I ended the solat with the usual doa & recitation of several Qur'anic ayah, treating them as my personal gift to the beloved Rasulullah and family, his companions as well as to the rest of his Ummah including my late paternal grandfather, my late Tok Ayah.

At that point of time, at the back of my mind, the image of my late Tok Ayah became clearer and clearer. I was almost sure that he wanted me to present him with more recitation of Quranic verses. And that particular thought, somehow, had made me continue reciting, repeatedly...with the hope that my late Tok Ayah would know that he's not forgotten.

My only regret is that I wish I had the opportunity to tell him the truth. To tell the truth about Abdul Hasib and introduce my dearest husband (then, a would be fiance) to him. And my penitence is sincere...

Tok Ayah had undergone a major surgery, somewhere in the middle of September 2005 and upon hearing the news, I rushed back from KL to KB. I waited for almost two days for him to open his eyes after the operation, but Allah loves him more... he never regained his consciousness...our family lost his sincere smile, we lost his warmth, we lost him forever.

Tok Ayah, we do miss you...Al Fatihah to Allahyarham Abd Rashid Ibrahim (1936 - 2005).

Salam Eid Fitri!

The sighting of the new moon at the end of Ramadhan heralds the celebration of Eid ul-Fitr.

Am not feeling very well, hence on MC today. B and I will be going back to Johore tomorrow for Eidul Fitri (and to Kota Bharu, days later), so all the packing needs to be done by today.

But since I've planned everything earlier -in my to-do list, so little is left to occupy my current busy mind. Yes, my mind now is busy with something else...

My first time celebrating 1st Syawal, with husband dearest and in laws, I wonder, how will it be?

My first time celebrating 1st Syawal, far from home sweet home, I wonder, how will it be?

And most importantly, my first time celebrating 1st Syawal, without family dearest within my sight, I wonder, how will it be?

Ummi, Abah & sibs - wait for me! Will be home with you guys on the night of 1st Syawal, Insya Allah. =)

And to all of you out there,

for the things we did wrong..
for the words that might hurt..
for the jokes you can't take..
and for the advise you can't accept..
1001 apologies...

Happy Eid Mubarak from us, both - Asib & Asni

Nothing Like It.

The heart has reasons that reason does not understand.

I'm very sure, this never happened to me before
I met you and now I'm sure
This never happened before

Now I see, this is the way it's supposed to be
I met you and now I see
This is the way it should be

.::Paul McCartney, This Never Happened Before::.

asniloveschocolate:

Few crushes before him, but never LOVE. After my marriage, friends have been asking, "How do you really know he's the right one?" To that I answered: "I just knew it." *smile* I just knew, because it never happened to me before, nothing like it, before him.And because of that I'm glad. =)

Dear Abdul Hasib, I met you and now I see, this is the way it should be...Much Love. =)

In the middle of doing some office work in front of the square box when the blogging mood strikes.

Don't get me wrong, I don't usually stay up to do work related thingy and I rarely bring home my notebook. But tonight is an exception, with no special reason. Just feel like finishing up some stuff earlier than the expected deadlines.

I really want to enjoy my festive holidays, my first Eidul Fitr with hubby & in laws, and also my raya celebration with family dearest in my precious hometown - unburden by unnecessary stress or bulky documents.

Mid - Ramadhan @ KB

Ramadhan - the month of the Qur'an, the month of generosity, the month of standing (in voluntary night prayer), the month of the compulsory fast, the month of goodness and blessings.
